TLEF’s opening plenary (Aug 16) will include welcoming remarks by Ann Marie Chischilly, ITEP Executive Director; Jose Cruz Rivera, President of Northern Arizona University; Michael Regan, Administrator of the US EPA; Jane Nishida, Acting Assistant Administrator of US EPA OITA; Joann Chase, Director of US EPA AIEO; Barry Breen, Acting Assistant Administrator of US EPA OLEM; Carlton Waterhouse, Deputy Assistant Administrator of US EPA OLEM; Mark Junker, Sac and Fox of Missouri in Nebraska and Kansas and Chair of the TWAR SC. There will also be a keynote presentation on the how the Tribal Nations in Virginia are protecting their lands and people – past, present, and future: Reggie Tupponce, Tribal Administrator and Leigh Mitchell, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Coordinator, Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe. After the opening plenary, you are invited to view a compilation of videos from Tribes showcasing the culture and activities of their Nations.

TLEF’s closing plenary (Aug 19) will include a keynote presentation on the Yurok Tribe’s Reintroduction of the California Condor to the Skies Of Northern California: Tiana Williams, Wildlife Director, Yurok Tribe and closing comments by Rebecca Stevens, Coeur d’Alene Tribe and Vice-Chair of the TWAR SC.
