The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will host the Tribal Nations Training Week during the week of
September 12-19, on the CDP campus in Anniston, AL. CDP training is completely funded for state, local, tribal
and territorial emergency responders to include roundtrip airfare, meals, lodging, tuition and any equipment
required during training.
The training week begins with an opening ceremony featuring special presentations and a feast celebrating the
culture of togetherness. The entire training week was planned by Tribal subject matter experts, ensuring that
Tribal Nations’ resilience, response, and planning remain at the forefront of all activities.
The Training Week theme is “Strengthening Indigenous readiness Honoring Sovereignty and Achieving Resilience
Through an All-Hazards Approach”.
Eleven specialized training tracks will be offered throughout the week, equipping Tribal Nation attendees
with essential skills in emergency management, planning, response, and recovery. Courses range from
hazardous materials training, healthcare courses, law enforcement training, cyber preparedness, community
safety, emergency operations planning, strategic national stockpile training and explosives response.
Training opportunities are available for all levels of Tribal government, ensuring comprehensive support for
planning and response efforts.
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to build more resilience in Tribes across the country
and receive training certifications.
Additional evening events will include sessions with FEMA Regional Tribal Liaisons and FEMA Integrated
Team Members. Another evening will be dedicated to Tribal attendees, providing an opportunity to showcase
their creativity and network with peers.
